Everybody knows the awesome song Teardrop by Massive Attack. Today I was listening to a couple of covers of it. Ofcourse there’s the cover by Jose Gonzalez:

and then I discovered this one which I love (maybe just as much as the original!..)

I would put this version of the song to a dramatic funeral scene and from about 1:37 in to the song is when the scene would change to show all the flashbacks/ great moments and memories of that persons life… Any thoughts?

The Naked and Famous – Young Blood. From the band’s forthcoming debut album Passive Me, Aggressive You which is set to be released next month according to Wikipedia. Awesome song and clip, I really hope this band goes big!

Eurovision 2010

I’d almost forgotten about the songs from Eurovision this year when i stumbled across Ukraine’s song again. I wanted this one to win because it was the only song in the competition that actually meant something.

“Yes the message is so real. Don’t turn all the earth to stone. Because because because, this is your home.”

Apart from this album and their Bleed American/Jimmy Eat World, I’m not as keen on their other albums. But I’m really excited for their new album Invented which is set to be released in September this year.

Shapeshifter – Twin Galaxies. From their latest 2009 album The System Is A Vampire. I’m currently in love with this song and the vocals of Paora ‘PDigsss’ Apera! Amazing video clip too. Overall: Awesome.

Massive Attack – Paradise Circus. From their 2010 album Heligoland. My favourite track on their latest album for sure. The more I listen to Heligoland the more I like it. The video clip for this song was done using images from the 2006 film The Fall directed by Tarsem Singh. Seeing as the movie is so visually amazing I’ve included the trailer for that too.

I just recently came across this indie folk band. They formed in London in 2007 and remind me a bit of Fleet Foxes. I love the crescendos and there’s not one song on their 2009 album Sigh No More that I don’t like! Awesome stuff, have a listen.
