Fever Ray – When I Grow Up. From the 2009 self-titled album. Fever Ray is the solo project of The Knife’s Karin Dreijer Andersson. Listen to the lyrics, they get weirder and weirder, especially that bit about plants…
Here you'll find both new and old, popular and near-to-unknown, music from pretty much every style except for rap, screaming metal, and yodelling. Every day I put up a new song that I like, and every week a featured artist. Leave feedback and let me know what you think! :)

The Courteeners
Just found this awesome band from Manchester. I think I’ll add them to my favourites… Here’s a few samples:
You Overdid It Doll
Not Nineteen Forever
The Opener. Sweet song, especially the lyrics! This one made it on to my favourite songs list.

Love, love is a verb. Love is a doing word.
Everybody knows the awesome song Teardrop by Massive Attack. Today I was listening to a couple of covers of it. Ofcourse there’s the cover by Jose Gonzalez:
and then I discovered this one which I love (maybe just as much as the original!..)
I would put this version of the song to a dramatic funeral scene and from about 1:37 in to the song is when the scene would change to show all the flashbacks/ great moments and memories of that persons life… Any thoughts?

Eurovision 2010
I’d almost forgotten about the songs from Eurovision this year when i stumbled across Ukraine’s song again. I wanted this one to win because it was the only song in the competition that actually meant something.
“Yes the message is so real. Don’t turn all the earth to stone. Because because because, this is your home.”
And I like her voice too! So here it is:
ALyosha – Sweet People
She is very dedicated to the environment and has her website here: http://www.alyoshamission.com
Check out this song too

Jimmy Eat World – Chase This Light
I haven’t heard so much of Jimmy Eat World since their awesome album Bleed American/Jimmy Eat World, however I’ve been listening to their album Chase This Light from 2007 and it is sweeeet. Here’s some tracks from that.
Dizzy
Gotta Be Somebody’s Blues
Electable (Give It Up)
Carry You
Always Be
Apart from this album and their Bleed American/Jimmy Eat World, I’m not as keen on their other albums. But I’m really excited for their new album Invented which is set to be released in September this year.

Things just ain’t been the same since the day you went away
Shapeshifter – Twin Galaxies. From their latest 2009 album The System Is A Vampire. I’m currently in love with this song and the vocals of Paora ‘PDigsss’ Apera! Amazing video clip too. Overall: Awesome.

Jag gjorde upp en eld för dig, och nu brinner hela skogen
Familjen – Det Snurrar I Min Skalle. From the 2007 album Det Snurrar I Min Skalle. Trippy video clip! It’s always spinning in my head too.

She will love you like a fly will never love you, again
Massive Attack – Paradise Circus. From their 2010 album Heligoland. My favourite track on their latest album for sure. The more I listen to Heligoland the more I like it. The video clip for this song was done using images from the 2006 film The Fall directed by Tarsem Singh. Seeing as the movie is so visually amazing I’ve included the trailer for that too.

Three let me see what you’ve got
Archie Bronson Outfit – Dart For My Sweetheart. From their 2006 album Derdang Derdang.
Mumford & Sons
I just recently came across this indie folk band. They formed in London in 2007 and remind me a bit of Fleet Foxes. I love the crescendos and there’s not one song on their 2009 album Sigh No More that I don’t like! Awesome stuff, have a listen.
Little Lion Man
I Gave You All
Thistle & Weeds
Awake My Soul

Come take my hand, let’s go for a swim
The Sounds – Home Is Where Your Heart Is. From their 2009 album Crossing The Rubicon.
I met you once and I’d fallen for your notions
Angus & Julia Stone – Lonely Hands. From their 2008 EP Hollywood. The lyrics are taken from their song Just A Boy, I think I like this one slightly more though. See what you think.
Just a Boy
Oh the things that you do
Camera Obscura – French Navy. From their 2009 album My Maudlin Career.

My love, leave yourself behind
Sia – My Love. From The 2010 Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Although I haven’t actually seen any of the movies yet, this is my favourite song from the Eclipse soundtrack. Seeing as the soundtracks are so good I’ll have to get round to watching the movies sometime…

Love don’t live here anymore
Kerli – Love Is Dead. From her 2008 album Love Is Dead. Great dramatic song, watch how she transforms throughout the video. Pretty cool huh?
